Customer Review: Highly recommended - this is an oustanding debut cd
I just got this cd a couple weeks ago, and it has been in heavy rotation ever since. Some songs are reminiscent of Dave Matthews or Bob Dylan, but he has his own style. My favorite songs are the funky title track, and "Carter's Tune" which is just amazing. The whole album has a countrified, rootsy feel, and sorta mellows out toward the end. The front end is funkier and jams out - it's a great way to start the day, but the second half is also the perfect late-night soundtrack before you go to bed. I highly recommend this cd to anyone who digs quality singer/songwriter music, and there's a sincere balance between sadness and optimism in his lyrics that's hard to find. I don't know who the other musicians are on the album, but they're all really tight together and this album has become an immediate favorite.

1. Association

People need to associate with your music to something they know before they listen to anything, yet alone download anything. So make sure that you actually specify what you music sounds like. This is a fantastic way to get the "mental image download audience". By saying: "Tiesto sounding music to make your butt shake. Click here to dance for free." Is an extremely good mental image ticking all the downloaders boxes. 1. They are into that style of music, and 2. Its free. You are putting up mental images of kicking music because you have associated it with kicking artists and descriptive words.

2. Artist Pages

You have to know your audience for this to work. Hence doing prep work before you even start building a web site. Ask yourself, who actually is your audience? if you have created trance tracks you need to be building pages designed to attract trance listeners. A great way of doing this, but getting targeted downloaders is to make pages that review trance artists. If you list the "best trance artists" and then have a page dedicated to profiling each one, then you are netting a wide but targeted audience who likes trance. Then at the bottom of each page link to your own songs.

3. Placement

This is an area where I have done extensive research. First off, you need to figure out "what is your goal". Be realistic. If it is to get an album deal, then it means hard work, but if your goal is to spread your music far and wide then the actual placement of your songs on your pages will make a huge difference to downloads. If your songs are more than a few clicks away then you will not get that download.

If they are 1 click away then you will get a much better response rate. 1 click away downloads are only available if you have a nav bar that says 1. free music, 2.links on other pages that link directly to your music download page (not many people jump straight into your homepage, most will jump away from it as most traffic generated is search engine led) that state there is free music to listen to.

4. Offer a download

This may seem pretty insane, but it is strange how many people don't offer this. It is mainly because they don't say that people can download their tracks or have them tucked away from public view. Or...my personal bug bear...pay to download. I am not going into that, but all I am saying is that don't get people to pay for your tracks. You are supposed to be promoting your tracks- so don't put up a cash barrier. Offer a free album download to newsletter subscribers. This offers to spread your tracks and increases your subscriber base at the same time.

5. Pre-sell

It may sound strange, but getting the download is all to do with selling, even though you are offering something for free. You see, point 2 in combination with point 3 will get the most recognition from downloaders because they are wanting to download your song. If you go onto a site with reams of MP3s, unless you know the artist or have a love of their music them then it makes no sense to download anything- what on earth are you downloading? IamHere.mp3- what is that!?

We must realise that downloaders have a vast choice out there, so we must make their site visit pleasurable, and easy to get what they want. Having flash and "in your face" animations seem cool, but they don't really add to your pre-sell, they just annoy and don't lead the downloader to what they want.

So to increase your downloads, you must always think of pre-selling. This can be simple as putting a streaming link on your page, playing the track when someone comes onto the site (beware download rates).

Even putting a brief description with the track (key word= descriptive/ relevant/ see point 1) and even asking to rate your music (you can see then what people like and dislike- an easy tool to modify your future music creations. You could even put remixes of various artist tracks (having a page per song to get better ranking in search engines and to attract the targeted audience).

Describe what you have done, get interviews from like themed artists, appear on other artists sites...Offer something for the downloader.

Download unlimited music is a dream come true for many music lovers. If you happen to be one of the millions who prefer to fill your MP3 player with only your favourites and not want to buy the whole album, then signing up for music subscription service is the right choice for you. Is the music quality good? You will be surprised that there can be some slight differences in song quality downloaded at various sites. There is a lot of science that goes into this such as the compression format and bit rates. Check out samples offered by these sites to hear and differentiate.

3. Music Format

You need to check the format of music offered for compatibility with your PC or MP3 player. MP3, OGG, AAC, WMA, ATRAC are some of the more common formats. I have to caution you here because not all formats are playable on your PC music client application or MP3 player. Take for instance; ATRAC3 can only be played on Sonys Connect players. There is no point to download unlimited music if you cannot even listen to them.

4. Read the Reviews

Do a quick search online and read the reviews of each site where you can download unlimited music.

Kentucky is a beautiful state no matter what the season or the month. In February you will find beautiful Thoroughbred farms, beautiful Kentucky bluegrass and tons of culture.
Kentuckys bourbon is as famous as their horses. The bourbon from the state has been used in everything from mint juleps at the Kentucky derby to chocolate Candy. In Central Kentucky you will find famous distilleries including Makers Mark, Jim Beam, Buffalo Trace, Wild Turkey, and Four Roses. Ninety-five percent of the worlds bourbon is created right here. You will find distilleries in Lexington, Louisville, Frankfort and Bardstown. Most distilleries are within a couple hours from each other. If you want to learn more about the history of bourbon, be sure to check out the Oscar Getz Museum of Whiskey History in Bardstown or the Bourbon Heritage Center on the grounds of Heaven Hill Distilleries in Bardstown.

If you love music and barbeque then head to Rosine for the Rosine Barn Jamboree. Every Friday night you can enjoy bluegrass, gospel and country music in the historic barn of Bill Monroes hometown. Guests are also allowed to perform or just dance. The music starts at 7 and ends whenever it ends. In Georgetown you will find the Annual Frosty and Friends Snowman Exhibit. This is an annual exhibition of outdoor snowmen that are crafted by local artists.

In Grand Rivers you can experience a Branson-style two-hour musical revue. The event is a variety show with a professional cast of singers, dancers and live bands. The show is held every weekend at the Badgett Playhouse. In Louisville you will want to visit the Gheens Science Hall and Rauch Planetarium at the University of Louisville. These are held on the first Saturday of each month. They will take you on an in-depth exploration of the stars, constellations and planets.

Louisville Science Center is a great experience for children of all ages. There are a variety of activities and different exhibits that promote hands on learning for children. The World We Create features creative thinking that has made scientific advancements possible. The World Within Us teaches children about their body and life. The World Around Us shows us our natural and earth sciences with galleries featuring the atmosphere, terrasphere and aquasphere. The KidZone is a special play area for children that are under age 7. There are also several temporary exhibits that allow children to learn about a variety of new topics such as Animal Grossology.

I was given this album as a gift three years ago and while it was new to me I immediately noticed that the lead vocalist had no idea of how to break away from singing very "clunkily" in syllables...to every song!!! I haven't read all the reviews to this album (would take days) but wonder if he annoys anyone else as much as he annoys me?

The Coldplay album to get if you're only going to get one, but all of them are good. this isn't as mellow or low-key as Parachutes. amazing orchestration, sweeping melodies. i admit this isn't for everyone.. some may find it depressing but i think the songs aren't straight depressing- they're more bittersweet, melancholy, hopeful. simple lyrics everybody can relate to. i still play this cd all the way through sometimes and i've had it for years.

Anytime is the latest release from Pop Artist Brian Mcknight, and I can only think of one word to describe it AWESOME!

I wish it werent the case but, its not everyday that I get a CD from an artist that I can just pop in and comfortably listen to from beginning to end. There is usually a song or two that I just cant force myself to get through. Not at all the case with Anytime. Every track is enjoyable and was pretty easy for me to listen to from start to finish.

It's a rare day indeed that I get a CD from an artist that I can truthfully say does not have a bad track in the bunch. I'm more than happy to announce thats exactly what I must say about this one. There simply is NOT a bad one in the bunch. No fillers here at all, with each song standing tall on it's own.

Anytime has a nicely varied, mix of 12 tracks that are very well written songs by this clearly gifted artist. With many of the songs displaying a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Clearly drawing from what I can only imagine are him own personal experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions like love, heartbreak, pain, failed relationships and unattainable romance. Theyre all here.

I give Anytime my highest recommendation. It just plain belongs in any serious music collectors collection regardless of genre preference.

While the entire album is outstanding some of my favorites are track 4 - Show Me The Way Back To Your Heart, track 5 - Everytime We Say Goodbye, and track 12 - When The Chariot Comes

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track - Anytime. Good stuff!

There are many books on jazz and jazz lessons available at online shopping sites like Amazon, but these books can be somewhat cold for the learner, because there is no communication between the author of the method and the student. This is just one of the reasons people turn to online guitar lessons.

Why people prefer online courses as opposed to conventional books:

1. Some Online courses are paid for in monthly instalments which are usually much cheaper than paying a jazz master for weekly classes. This is thanks to the amount of people they can reach worldwide. The more students they have, the less they need to charge each student to cover their operating costs and salaries. Final words

The best way to learn jazz is, no doubt, having your own private mentor to show you what you need to learn, when you need to learn it, and the best way to achieve your end goals. But conventional lessons are expensive and many wanting to expand their musical skills may have obligations which limit their being able to attend lessons at conventional times. Thanks to Internet we have the perfect alternative: the online lesson.

Coldplay: Live 2003

Riding high on the phenomenal success of A Rush of Blood to the Head, Coldplay is in peak form on Coldplay Live 2003. This CD/DVD two-pack was filmed (on Super-16mm film) and recorded in Sydney's Horden Pavilion on July 21 and 22, 2003, during an exhaustive year-long world tour, and the medium-sized arena provides a fitting stage for the London-based rock quartet, not so grand as to overwhelm the music, but large enough to indicate their large and loyal following, which includes enthusiastic fans of either gender. Especially when played in DTS 5.1 surround, this 90-minute concert is richer, thicker, and (of course) louder than Coldplay's studio recordings, lending a wall-of-sound expansiveness to the band's signature sound, which draws from such diverse influences as Genesis, Pink Floyd, The Verve, U2, and their own unique sonic landscape. "Politik" gets the gig off to a rousing start, and other impressive highlights include "Daylight," "Yellow," the as-yet-unreleased new song "Moses," and the popular hits "In My Place," "Clocks," and "The Scientist." And while the concert visuals are slick and professional (perhaps placing a bit too much emphasis on singer/frontman Chris Martin), this DVD and CD--the latter containing a truncated 70-minute version of the same performance--are best appreciated for their pristine audio quality. Culled from 400 hours of home video, the 40-minute "concert diary" represents a wasted opportunity, enjoyable for hardcore fans but offering no insight into the band or its individual members. Much better, then, to play the concert at healthy high volume, and appreciate Coldplay in the prime of their young career. --Jeff Shannon
Customer Review: The best concert I never went to!!
I got the Coldplay 2003 DVD as a birthday present in '04. Coldplay's my favorite band, so you can imagine my excitement. Back in the days, I never thought I could ever be in a real concert of the band, I lived too far away from any place they toured. Almost four years later, I still think the DVD was the best concert in my life. That is, taking into consideration that I went to see them, against all odds, in NYC in 2006. It's not that the concert was bad, it was one of the best days in my life. It's that to me, the DVD is so good that I can't get enough of it. The band plays perfectly, the connection with the crowd is real, the choice of songs is fantastic, the sound is epic, the transitions that go along with songs, including colors, angles and views of the crowd and the band are nothing but exciting and bright. If there's any DVD I would ever recommend, it's this one. It's the closest you'll come to live the Coldplay experience if you haven't got the chance to live it already.
Customer Review: Wow. That's all I have to say.
Not only is the music CD great, but the DVD packs quite the punch. The only tiny thing that bugged me was how the CD didn't have every song off of the DVD, but I guess that's what makes the DVD that much better. If you like Coldplay, but this DVD, you will not regret it. Best $20 musical purchase I've made in a long time.

Kids tend to find singing very amusing and never miss a chance to show off their singing talent. For some kids, the desire to sing does not wear off by getting older. In some cases, it grows even stronger and it becomes a passion they wish to pursue as adults. In this case, singing becomes a bit more challenging. It's one thing to make singing mistakes as a kid and quite different to become embarrassed in a karaoke contest. In fact, many people give up singing as adults, simply because they are afraid of the harsh criticism they may get.

If you can identify with the above situation, you'll certainly be glad to know that you can, in fact, learn how to sing properly, every time. Sure, good genes are factor if you want to become a star, but anyone can learn how to sing impressively well if they devote the time and energy required to master the technique. Hence, the most important step you need to take, is to decide if you are really determined to learn how to sing and everything else will follow with studying and practice.

You will have noticed that the word "studying" was mentioned in the above paragraph, along with practice. You see, in order to sing properly, you definitely need to learn some of the principles of voice production. Singing is a highly physical activity and professional singers know that. That's why they seem to be singing with their entire body rather than just their vocal chords. Pro singers can manipulate three types of singing voices, which are usually common to all people. The chest voice, the middle voice and the head voice.

The chest voice is the voice you use when you speak. With this voice, you can create a rich, full-bodies sound. The head voice is usually used for higher pitched notes, most frequently by female vocal artists. The middle voice acts somewhat like a bridge between the chest voice and the head voice. You can think of these different singing voices as the ABC of singing. Only after you've studied and learned your ABC does it make sense to practice. And if you practice with some solid guidelines in mind, be sure that you can learn how to sing correctly, every time!
